Interviewing can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be as long as you are well prepared! Here, we’ll go over the basics before you schedule a conversation with us.

- Come prepared. Everyone loves a candidate who does their homework! To prepare for your interview, read through the description and ensure you know the role's expectations. Do some research on who you'll be meeting (we'll give you names ahead of time), and do some reading on SEO as a company. You should know what our mission and values are and be able to speak to them.
- Be professional. Just because it is a virtual interview doesn’t make it less formal. Avoid wearing distracting or offensive clothing.
- Know your interviewers. If available, look them up on LinkedIn and ask engaging questions about their journey. Take this opportunity to also network. Interviewers talk to several candidates so make yours memorable!
- Be on time. If you need to reschedule, please let us know asap. Do not ghost the interviewers.
Environment Check
Ensure that you have the following:
- [ ] Find a quiet space where there is little to no possibility of interruptions. If you share a space, communicate in advance the time during which you will be conducting your interview.
- [ ] Test your audio and video.
- [ ] Have a light source behind or next to your camera. Position your camera to eye level. Ensure that you do not have any distracting items in the background.
- [ ] Before the call, silence your phone and turn off other notifications (e.g. email, slack) and make sure your device is charged.
How to Handle Technical Issues
- Prior to the interview, test out the tool/platform you will be using. Also test out your internet connectivity.
- If there is a delay with your video, consider moving closer to the Wi-Fi router.
- If technical issues arise during the interview, stay calm! Communicate through the chat feature to let your interviewer know what’s going on.
- If you are unable to re-connect, please email the recruiter and offer to finish the interview via phone call or consider using you phone to call into the video platform.
